5 Fierce Hindi Movies to watch in December 2023

Yet another year is coming to an end and what’s a better way to spend the festive month of December than to watch movies with your loved ones. This December of 2023 has a lot in store for you with a ton of new movies to be released. But which ones to pick ? To make it easier, here is a list of 5 Hindi movies to watch in December 2023. So gear up for some drama, comedy, love, adventure and a lot of action coming up your way!

Animal

Watch out for the ‘Animal’ to be unleashed on the 1st of December. With more than 2 lakh tickets booked already for around 6k shows, this movie is anticipated to be the highest opener for Ranbir Kapoor, breaking the record of his last highest opening of 34 crores from the movie ‘Sanju’. Ranbir being in his element again, seems to be living this part rather than acting it. What’s even more captivating is that only a few seconds’ clips of Bobby Deol in the trailer has left the viewers awestruck.

Bobby Deol in a recent Instagram post:

After giving movies like Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, director Sandip Reddy Vanga is back with yet another twisted alpha protagonist. The movie can be too gory for people with a weak stomach, it is only for the age of 18 & above and has received an ‘A’ rating from the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification). With a length of 201 minutes, this movie is joining the group of the longest movies in Bollywood.

The addition of a folk song in its purity in the movie is yet another surprise element which is striking all the right chords with the audience.

Sam Bahadur

Vicky Kaushal is back with yet another wave of patriotism on 1st of December 2023. This movie is based on the life of Sam Manekshaw, also known as Sam Bahadur (Bahadur means ‘Brave’). He was the Chief of Army Staff during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. ‘In recognition of outstanding services to the Armed Forces and the nation’, he was promoted to the rank of field marshal, making him the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to that rank. Interestingly, there have been only two Army officers till now who have been awarded with the rank of field marshal, the second one being Kodandera M. Cariappa.

Fun Fact: The story of how Sam Manekshaw was born in India is also intriguing. His parents were to leave Mumbai and settle in Lahore for good. But, during the journey, when their train reached Amritsar, they couldn’t travel any further because Sam’s mother was in an advanced stage of pregnancy with her first child. So they had to take halt in Amritsar for a few months and by the time they could travel again, they had already started liking Amritsar enough to settle there instead.

A life lived with valour in the face of wars. There’s a lot more to know about in this commendable patriotic journey of a brave Army officer whose love for the nation knew no bounds.

Joram

All set with his first movie to be released in theatres this year on 8th of December 2023, Manoj Bajpayee needs no introduction when it comes to showing the naked truth through unfiltered realistic characters in his movies. And Joram is no exception. A survival thriller, this movie shows a glimpse of the life of a migrant from a village of Jharkhand affected by Maoists. We see a man running away with his infant daughter strapped to his chest, holding a gun in his hand, in an attempt to leave his past behind only the past wouldn’t leave him. A Police officer, played by Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, is on the chase. What happens next? Let’s find out on 8th of December 2023.

Dunki

After action packed Pathan and Jawan, King Khan is back with yet another movie Dunki in the comedy genre this time. The movie is all set to be released on 22nd December 2023 in India. More of a dark humour than comedy, this movie is an attempt to shed light on the obsessions of Indians for foreign countries like the USA, Canada or in this case England. From the makers of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S., Lage Raho Munna Bhai, 3 Idiots, PK and Sanju, this movie is the first collaboration of Shahrukh with Rajkumar Hirani.

The movie depicts four friends in a village in Punjab, Manu (Taapsee Pannu), Sukhi (Vicky Kaushal), Buggu (Vikram Kochhar) and Balli (Anil Grover) who want to go to London by any means. Hardy (Shahrukh Khan) is a soldier who decides to help them. The only problem is that they choose the illegal route, the ‘Donkey route‘ to enter the country, hence the name Dunki. In a recent tweet when a fan asked the reason behind choosing such a name, SRK responded that, “Dunki is a way of describing an illegal journey across borders. It is pronounced डंकी. It’s pronounced like Funky…Hunky….or yeah Monkey!!!”

Will this movie leave the same lasting impression as the other movies of Rajkumar Hirani ? Let’s find out this December!
